Route from the Midlands and the South

(Time from Porthmadog: No more than 30 minutes.)

After Penrhyndeudreath turn right at the roundabout onto the (new 2011) Porthmadog bypass. At the second roundabout turn left for A497 coast road towards Criccieth and Pwllheli. At the next roundabout turn right onto the A497 coast road towards Criccieth and Pwllheli. About 1½ miles beyond Criccieth turn right at the second Llanystumdwy sign / brown tourist sign for Plas Talhenbont. Take the first left (sign for Rhoslan) Immediately left again (sign for Ynys, Llangybi, Llanarmon) After crossing the river bridge fork immediately right. Continue to T junction after post box on right. At T junction turn right (sign for Ynys and Bryncir). Take the second turning on left at Rhosgyll Fawr sign. Keep straight on for about a quarter of a mile, onto the tarmac drive and continue (past two properties on the right) up a short steep hill. You will find Rhosgyll Fawr on the right at the crest of the hill.

Route from Bangor, Caernarfon and the North (Time from Caernarfon: Approximately 40 minutes.)

Take the A487 for Porthmadog Pass through the village of Bryncir Just after The Goat Inn pub on the left, turn right on the B4411 towards Criccieth. Continue on this road for about 2 miles passing through the village of Rhoslan Turn right towards Llanystumdwy (sign for Pwllheli 8 miles, Llanystumdwy 1½ miles) Continue on this road for about 1½ miles Turn right at the brown tourist sign for Plas Talhenbont (also sign for Ynys, Llangybi, Llanarmon).
